Bags packed; check. Credit cards alerted to my travel plans; check. Euros in the wallet; check. Valid passport; check. Global Rescue card packed; check!
For me, having Global Rescue is just as critical as having a passport; without it, I could end up stranded in a life-threatening situation –that’s if I actually make it out of the bush alive! Let’s say I’m scratched by a leopard, fall off a ledge hunting ibex, or get caught in the middle of violent demonstrations, or war… by pre-obtaining Global Rescue’s worldwide medical evacuation and/or security extraction, I know that I’ll be in good hands if the worst happens.
As a hunter traveling to civilized and uncivilized countries I always secure Global Rescueprior to departure –its $120 well spent (FYI, just to evacuate my friend from Ethiopia cost him $250,000 because he didn’t have Global Rescue)!
I don’t take this lightly –I’ve had friends wrestle with crocs, gored by buffalo, etc… your ability to get good care urgently is critical and having a peace of mind, like Global Rescue makes it easier to start tracking a wounded lion!
Furthermore, and MOST importantly, they’ll rescue me from the bush and take me to my hospital of choice… they’ll even deploy a private medical charter plane or helicopter just for me!
A possibility I have faced before is a threat on my personal security (I was in the capital of Zimbabwe alone during the violent and corrupt elections –talk about dangerous!), but I knew that Global Rescue would meet me at the point of danger and evacuate me by any means necessary; check out this video highlighting how far they’re willing to go to rescue their members: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFGbHBbXG_g
Have you heard any hunting emergencies where Global Rescue could’ve helped?
