Ready for Spain

Spain12

I’m excited to hunt with Bruno of  Trophy Hunting Spain again, but especially to do a first-ever hunt with my fiancé, Tom Opre.  Together, we’ll be filming a couple of shows for Tom’s show, ‘Eye of The Hunter’  in pursuit of Gredos ibex, roe deer and fly-fish in the Pyrenees.

Both Tom and I work in the hunting industry, but all I’ve given him is ‘lip-service’ (and vise versa) on if I’m capable of hunting… so once again, I feel the pressure to prove myself (not really) to my fiancé that I am a worthy huntress!  Just kidding, but I have been treating this hunt as such.

Every single day I’ve been running at least a mile and I meet with a physical trainer twice a week; knowing that I’ll be carrying a firearm, backpack and climbing mountains, my trainer’s been making me do all kinds of torturous things!

I’ve packed my bags too –I have my Swarovski EL Range  10×42 (my first hunt with them –full report coming soon), my Kenetrek women’s mountain extreme boots, a plethora of SheSafari clothes (which are the best women’s hunting clothes on the market), and other minor necessities. This will be the first hunt where I’m properly and completely outfitted; so many hunts before I had sacrificed in some way (mostly clothing) and this time I’ll finally be perfectly outfitted!

I’ll look great, have the best products for effective hunting and now, it’s about performance! I’ve been shooting at long distances and at different angles… now let’s just see if I can get ‘er dun!

Is there anything else I should be doing to prepare?

So Jealous!!!! IBEX huge on my most wanted list!!!

Running a mile is great but I would be throwing on that pack and getting in 2-3 miles of walking right after that or walk for a mile, run for a mile, then walk for a mile all with your pack on.

Have a great trip, take tons of pictures and have fun!!!
