Obama: Responsible For Selling More Firearms… Again!

Obama Responsible For Selling More Firearms Again

Several years ago I remember a panic amongst firearm owners across the nation; we’d stock-pile all the ammo we could get our hands on, obtain our concealed hand-gun licenses, and buy as many firearms (especially semi-auto) as we could afford.  Obama invoked a concern in us then, and he’s doing it again.

Last Wednesday, President Obama responded to the terrible theatre massacre in Colorado. Of course words from our commander in chief are necessary during such a horrific event, but he also showed his ignorance in three ways after saying this: “I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals,” followed by: ”That they belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities.”

As demonstrated in England and Australia (where citizen don’t have the right to bear arms), “criminals” still acquire guns… you see, there’s this interesting factor, criminals don’t follow the law! Instead, they smuggle in or steal such firearms and the citizens remain defenseless!

US Soldiers don’t use AK-47’s.  They use the M4 carbine (a successor to the M16); you’d think our commander in chief would know that!

Lastly, an AK-47 wasn’t used in the massacre -it was an AR-15!

Mr. Obama is again on the track of violating our 2nd amendment; in fact, the following day after President Obama vowed in a speech to “leave no stone unturned” to reduce gun violence, his spokesman indicated that the president’s efforts won’t include any new gun-control proposed legislation.  We’ll just see about that -when more important matters are sorted out (like the election and economy), our ‘right to bear arms’ will be targeted.

What can we do to protect our right to bear arms?

I recently watched an attack on President Obama sponsored by the NRA and was shocked at the fear mongering and misrepresentations. The reality is that both presidential candidates are weak sauce gun control advocates. Romney approved an assault weapons ban while governor of Massachusetts. Conversely, Obama has done little to nothing to support liberal gun antis. If he had a mind to back any serious gun control legislation he would have done it already. I believe that Obama can be criticized for many of his policies, but an assault on our “God given right to bear arms” just doesn’t exist. Sorry Ivy, your blog is my favorite on WordPress, but sportsmen need to lobby on a foundation of reality.
