After 220 blogs and 4 1/2 years I will no longer be writing a blog for ‘From The Lodge’, but still consider myself a part of the NBC Sports Network team because of the television show my husband and I host, Eye of The Hunter™ that airs on NBC Sports Network on Sunday nights at 8:00pm Eastern.
The natural progression of things is to stay relevant and stream video content which is the future and the route NBC Sports has decided to go. It’s a direction my husband took a year and a half ago with great success; subsequently, I look forward to the content NBC Sports will put out.
When I first started blogging I was concerned that I’d battle to find topics to write about, but because my career as a hunting consultant has me constantly interfacing with outfitters, hunters, and wildlife officials, not to mention my public role on television, my writings in various magazines like African Hunting Gazette and Universal Hunter and scoring for B&C, P&Y, R&W and SCI, it’s been easy to find topics to write about! Of course with the onslaught of anti-hunters in the last six months, it’s been fantastic because I’ve been able to delve deeper into the important role hunters play in wildlife conservation and reveal just how critical hunting is in preserving our great wildlife.
It has been a fantastic experience sharing my perspectives with the ‘From The Lodge’ followers and, to be honest, I’m astonished at the freedom NBC has granted me to share my opinions. I’ve blogged about very controversial topics like religion, politics and of course the most controversial topic: hunting! I’d like to thank ‘From The Lodge’ for granting me a podium and supporting me all these years.
Where I won’t be blogging here, I will continue to write blogs about hunting of which will be found on the Eye of The Hunter™ website. You can also catch me on Eye of The Hunter™ on NBC Sports Network on Sunday nights at 8:00pm Eastern Time. So, don’t consider this my ‘farewell’, but more of an ‘I’ll see ya later’!
